Argentine physician group claims that larvicide pyroproxyfen is the actual culprit of causing birth defect microcephaly

A group of Argentine physicians has conducted a thorough investigation that challenges the claim of link between Zika virus and Microcephaly. Earlier it was assumed that Zika virus is responsible for causing birth defect microcephaly in new born babies. However, Argentine physician group has come up with this theory that that a toxic larvicide named pyroproxyfen, which was introduced in the water system of Brazil by their health ministry, is the actual culprit.

According to the group, this toxic larvicide was introduced in the water system of Brazil to control the population of mosquitoes. This chemical supposedly is a deadly poison. This chemical was spread by a massive state-run program at Brazil in 2014. The poison was produce by Sumimoto chemical, a Japanese subsidiary.

The group of physicians stated that Zika outbreak occurred in the past many times but none of those outbreak caused birth defect in babies. Combodia has a history of 75% Zika infections and zero case of microcephaly. The president of Cambodia announced that thousands of Cambodians are currently infected with Zika virus and Cambodia hasn’t traced a single case of microcephaly.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta have issued a statement alerting pregnant women to not travel Zika virus stroked areas. This includes the Caribbean, Central America and South America. Men who have travelled those areas are also advised to refrain from having sex or instilling condom while encountering sexual interactions with pregnant partners.

Microcephaly is an uncommon birth defect in which the infected mother’s baby is born with an unexceptionally small head. Babies with microcephaly also suffer brain hemorrhage. Microcephaly was initially linked with Zika virus by the Brazilian Ministry of Health and other media outlets.

The organization released a report regarding their investigation “A dramatic increase of congenital malformations, especially microcephaly in newborns, was detected and quickly linked to the Zika virus by the Brazilian Ministry of Health. However, they fail to recognize that in the area where most sick persons live, a chemical larvicide producing malformations in mosquitoes has been applied for 18 months, and that this poison (pyroproxyfen) is applied by the State on drinking water used by the affected population”
